AARRC - A.C.T.I.O.N. Addiction Recovery Resource Center

What We Do:

The AARRC provides educational and peer support services. *While we connect recoverees with other community resources, we do not provide treatment services, legal services, or clinical services.*

How can we help?

Our staff at the AARRC is made up of recoverees with lived experience! We have Peer Support Recovery Coaches and Program Coordinators that can guide you through customizing your own personal recovery plan as you continue to build upon your new-found wellness. Group sessions for the Next Steps program are conducted twice a week and include topics such as:


  • Educational groups to enhance self-care and life skills
  • How to problem solve and live life without the use of substances
  • Strategies for relapse prevention
  • How to set boundaries that strengthen your relationships
  • So much more!

We can also assist you with:

  • Peer coaching and mentoring
  • Case management
  • Substance abuse education
  • Referrals for higher level of care (where needed)
  • Teach and model effective communications skills
  • Guide participants to learn about themselves and motivate them to explore their interests
  • Transport participants (or find transportation services) to and from appointments, classes, and sober activities
  • Alcohol and drug-free social activities
  • Support groups - All Recovery, AA, NA, Living Free
  • Pre-employment and employment coaching
  • Assist in establishing resumes/CVs
  • Spiritual services

An evidence-based cognitive behavior therapy to help individuals make changes in thinking/behavior to live a life free of crime. MRT is a 12-step treatment strategy designed to enhance self-image, promote growth of a positive, productive identity, and facilitate the development of higher stages of moral reasoning.

Living Free is a non-profit Christian ministry that provides churches and ministries with small group training and discipleship curriculums that focus on helping people prevent and overcome life-controlling issues. The materials are biblically-based, Christ-centered, and designed to benefit all church members—challenging them to examine their own lives and equipping them to reach their communities by addressing the heart-felt needs of people.

 Freedom That Lasts (FTL) is a faith-based addiction recovery and discipleship program. Our goal is to help you develop a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Whether you are someone who is seeking to move past an addiction, looking for victory over a life-dominating sin, or you’re just interested in deepening your relationship with the Lord, FTL is designed to help you! The classes we’re offering feature down-to-earth, practical applications of biblical truth aimed at helping you grow.

Families Free in Johnson County has partnered with A.C.T.I.O.N Coalition to bring Drug Court to Johnson County.  Families Free holds the contract for the First Judicial District Felony Recovery Court, which serves both males and females who are at high risk for recidivism and have a high need.
